If you are here, surely you had once thought that you would like to have a Mistubishi Lancer Evolution and you think it was a shame that they stopped manufacturing them in 2017.
It seems that the brand of the 3
diamonds (which actually represent water chestnuts) wants to focus on
SUVs and Crossovers. It is worth recalling the villainy of using the
name Mitsubishi Eclipse for one of its new SUVs, disrespecting the
legendary sports car that O'Conner drove in The Fast & The
Furious. It is also true that there is currently a trend in most
brands towards electric and ecological cars that, inexplicably,
excludes sports models but not the largest 4x4 U¬¬.
According to the oficial website of Mitsubishi America: "As efficiency and versatility became increasingly important to consumers, Mitsubishi decided to focus their efforts on crossover vehicles and electric or hybrid cars in order to meet customer demand."
To top it off, lately the Internet has been filled with news about a Frankenstein Monster that will be created in partnership with Nissan, Mitsubishi and Renault with Megane parts (common with Space and Qashqai) and that it will be the supposed "successor" of the Lancer EVO. -_-
It is a prototype of an electric vehicle called "e-Evolution Concept", which I do not recommend looking for because it is horrible and, once again, it is a kind of SUV that has no meaning or coherence: it is not a sports car, it is not a SUV, it's not a van either ...
In other similar news they present as a relay for it the Grand Lancer, which is a Lancer that China Motor Corporation is manufacturing for China and Taiwan and which, although not bad, is a normal sedane that has no sport features.
But what nobody tells us, and is even difficult to find on the official website, is that the same company based in Taipei manufactures the Lancer EX, which is very similar to the Evo X with a small restyling that gives it a more staid appearance. Even so, it retains the same lines and proportions and even the front and rear headlights. Mitsubishi explains that "Mitsubishi discontinued production of the Lancer and Lancer Evolution. However, due to popular demand in
China and Taiwan, the Lancer nameplate lives on in these markets with the Lancer EX sport sedan."
Probably the acronym EX corresponds to the E of Evolution and the X of the model number 10.

Of course, although externally it is almost equal, the engines are not the same, far from it, you can only choose between a 1.6 of 117cv and a 2.0 of 150cv and Racing style details have been minimized both inside and outside .
But, although it is not very viable, technically we could still buy a Lancer EVO (or something similar) and even tune it with parts of the LanEvo X. I guess that's something... ^_^ U
